The Bridge Cottages in the heart of Coniston Village accommodate fro 2-20 people and make a great base for guests to enjoy The Cumbrian Ale Trail. Situated only 50m from the Balck Bull Inn (home of the Coniston Brewing Co) the pub serves great food in front of open log fires.

The Coppermines and Lake Cottages working with our local transport partner, Mountain Goat Holidays and Tours, can arrange a full day mini-coach tour to visit some of the local micro breweries.

Drink in the views on this leisurely tour that offers the chance to sample some of the finest real ales in the county and visit some of its best-loved pubs. Tours can also be tailored to include guided walks and outdoor activities.

How about a Ploughman’s and a pint of Tag Lag in the beer garden of the legendary Drunken Duck Inn? A warming glass of Grasmoor Dark Ale in front of the roaring open fire at the Kirkstile Inn? Or a fruity pint of Damson Beer in the Mason’s Arms overlooking the glorious Lyth Valley?

The tours are available for group bookings and guests can design their own Lakeland itineraries.

The Mountain Goat minibuses will collect your group from your accommodation so all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Hawkshead Brewery and Staveley Beer Hall Offering a range of ales brewed with the best Maris Otter malted barley, favourites include Lakeland Gold, Brodie’s Prime and the festive Jingle Fells.

Cumbrian Legendary Ales Brewery at Hawkshead Sitting on the shores of Esthwaite Water at the southern edge of Hawkshead, there couldn’t be a more idyllic setting for a brewery than this. Sample the coppery bitter Wicked Jimmy or Buttermere Beauty, a golden pilsner style real ale.

Coniston Brewery at Coniston Home of the famed Bluebird Bitter, the award-winning Coniston Brewery uses water from high up on the fells that tower over Coniston village. Visit too the popular Black Bull Inn with its lengthy guest beers list.

Hesket Market Brewery at Hesket Newmarket This thriving microbrewery is a real gem, selling award-winning beers such as Pigs Might Fly and Doris’ 90th birthday.

Barngates Brewery near Ambleside Home of Tag Lag, a golden ale with a fresh and spicy hop aroma, as well as beers like Catnap and Westmorland Gold. The brewery is based at the renowned Drunken Duck Inn.

Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth It’s possible to see the whole brewing process at the Jennings Brewery, which was founded in 1828. And of course you’ll be able to sample beers like Cumberland Ale, Sneck Lifter and Cocker Hoop.

For some added adventure, popular walks to choose from range from a leg-burning ascent of the Old Man of Coniston to a gentle ramble around Beatrix Potter’s beloved Tarn Hows.

Cumbria also boasts an exciting choice of mountain bike trails and fishing lakes plus attractions such as the aerial assault course Go Ape! in Grizedale Forest.
