COPPERMINES WEDDINGS 2012 - 2013

Looking for a unique location for your Wedding Ceremony or your Wedding Reception?

With magnificent views to the Coniston mountains above and Coniston Water in the valley floor below, The Coppermines Mountain Cottages make a truly memorable location for a wedding.

The cottages were restored from our original Victorian sawmill which has a commanding view over the rest of historic Coppermines valley and uninterrupted view of Coniston Old Man which rises directly from the cottages.

The cottages are restored as traditional Lakeland cottages and are very warm and welcoming.
Connected together they have 10 en-suite bedrooms and can sleep up to 27 people.
There is also a smaller cottage 500 yards away sleeping 2 - 4 people.

Since they are "cottage style" with exposed beams, log fires, but contemporary oak and leather furniture, the rooms are fairly compact.

The largest sitting room/dining room, licensed for a civil marriage ceremony, which is in The Sawyers Cottage, can hold 20-30 people, with some people standing. Others can view the ceremony from outside through the wide entrance double doors to this cottage.

The Coppermines Mountain Cottages now hold a Civil Licence and civil ceremonies can take place in one of the rooms within the mountain cottages. After viewing the cottages, to make arrangements for a civil partnership, initially you should contact the registrar in Ulverston:

Mrs Elaine Davies
tel. 01229 404171
ulverston.registeroffice@cumbriacc.gov.uk.

Alternatively if you wish to be married in church.
Rev Mark East is the vicar of the Anglican Church in Coniston village; he is happy to marry couples who live outside the parish of Coniston and is very approachable.
If this is applicable I suggest you give him a ring on 015394 41262 to discuss how you might proceed.

A delightful feature of the cottages is the ability to site a beautiful wedding marquee next to them.

Reached either from the outside, or from a connecting patio door, the wedding marquee at the Coppermines has a fantastic atmosphere, a wonderful place to celebrate, dine, and dance afterwards.

The largest marquee that can be sited, can seat around 150 people, for a wedding breakfast, with enough ability to host up to 250 people "buffet style" for an evening reception.

Other smaller marquees for catering etc can be erected to join onto the main marquee.

Our prices vary throughout the year, and it is possible to book just a 3 night weekend, a 4 night midweek break or a full week from a Friday.

One crucial thing, we do point out that The Coppermines Mountain Cottages are situated in a true 'mountain environment' ideal for those who really love relatively "harsh" mountain situations, but not for those who are looking for a 'country house' style wedding celebration!

We are very keen that you have the most enjoyable time with us.

We are happy for you to have your own choice of marquee hire, caterers, florists, music etc, and links to those recommended by us can be found on our web pages.

For your guests, we have over 30 other cottages within a mile and a half of Coppermines Valley, both large and small for couples and groups, all available for short stays at most times of the year.

If you are further interested in the wedding at the Coppermines, please do contact me for further advice, and to arrange to view the properties.

The four interlocking cottages can accommodate 26 guests in 10 en-suite rooms with another cottage just 500 yards away accommodating another 4 guests.

One of our larger rooms at the cottages is now licenced for civil marriage ceremonies (from December 2010) or St Andrew's Anglican Church in Coniston village also is an excellent location.

It is also possible to arrange the following services:

Wedding Cars - Mini-Coaches - Lake Cruises

Flowers & Floral Displays - Cakes - Photography

Outdoor Activities - Guided Walks
