RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park July 2006

CONISTON LAKES HERITAGE

Film locations & props

This year we featured part of our collection of historic horse drawn vehicles and period effects, some of which appear in the forthcoming film about Beatrix Potter "Miss Potter".

Shot in the Lake District this spring, the film portrays the author's early life, before buying Hill Top Farm at Near Sawrey.

For the show we recreated part of the 'Hill Top' garden and the cottage porch.

Many of the items in the garden were used in shooting the film including the 'red cart' which we featured in its own garden in the foreground.

Some of the filming of these scenes took place at Yew Tree Farm, Coniston, which has a walkers' tea room originally established and furnished by Beatrix Potter.

Thanks to David Jack for these photos for which we have made a donation to Christies Hospital, Manchester
