Lake View & Haws Bank Cottages - Coniston

These cottages are all close to The Ship Inn, about half a mile south of the centre of Coniston Village.
They all enjoy easy access to the lake, which is between 5 and 10 minutes walk away - and some of them have lake views.

A Traditional Lakeland stone cottage, originally part of a hamlet serving the Tudor Coniston Hall, Stone Leys was the wheelwright's cottage.
The mill stream still tumbles alongside the enclosed cottage garden, which has parking for 3 cars, and room for bicycles and boats ! Full of character and tradition, the cottage is at least two hundred years old, and recently refurbished with attractive beams and window seats within very substantial stone walls.

Sitting room: spacious and comfortable with three large sofas, oak beams, wood-burning stove, Colour TV (with Sky sport) multi format DVD

Games Room: TV plus multi format DVD and Playstation (PS2), table football, large sofa

Dining/Kitchen: deceptively spacious, with oil fired AGA plus a conventional electric cooker with ovens & ceramic hob, and a microwave.

Utility room: Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer etc

Cloakroom: with w.c. and washbasin.

Rear porch: with hanging area for wet gear.

Upstairs

Master bedroom 1: with king-size pine bed. Window seat with views towards the fells.

Bedroom 2: with queen size double bed or twin single 3ft beds. Window seat with views towards the fells.

Bedroom 3: with 3ft single bed and occasional 3ft guest single bed.

Outside

Pretty cottage garden with terrace, garden furniture and barbeque facilities.
2 mins to lake - temporary membership of Coniston Sailing Club available for those with sailing dingies.
Easy walks to village
Easy access to fells, Cycle paths, Pony trekking, launches to lake locations
Pub 5 mins walk (The Ship: very good local food)
Good access to village shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways.

An attached eighteenth century farm house, this beautiful little cottage lies in a secluded position next to the Ship Inn in a quieter rural area on the outskirts of the village. It has recently been refurbished and has a wealth of oak beams and many original period features. Beside it lies a lovely little garden with a seasonal lake view whilst footpaths to the fells and lake can be found nearby

It has a large garden and parking for one car both on the opposite side of the road and has views to the Coniston Fells from the sitting room & bedroom windows.

A traditional whitewashed 16th century cottage set near to open countryside on the edge of Coniston Village, surrounded by beautiful views of Coniston Old Man and the Fells, which has been partially refurbished early this year.

Sunny Brae Cottage can be found in the old hamlet of Haws Bank about half a mile south of Coniston Village, near to The Ship Inn

Haws Bank was originally a small community containing a few local industries such as wheelwright, Blacksmiths and a few stone cottages one of which was a "Penny Ale House'.

The main road from Coniston now bypasses Haws Bank making the little hamlet an ideal place to stay.

The Penny Ale House now forms Sunny Brae Cottage which has a very attractive garden across the lane, where you can while away the afternoons listening to the beck as it makes it's way down to nearby Coniston Water.
