Over 300m of grassy riverside allow those who visit a chance to picnic, relax and wild swim in the various pools and shallows of the river.

The largest town in the area, Broughton-in-Furness dates back to the 11th Century and is situated to the south west of the Coniston Fells making it a great base to explore some of the quieter and most beautiful parts of the Lake District.
