If you want to stay in a quintessential Lakeland cottage, then look no further. Stone Leys Cottage is just that. A double-fronted slate property, with whitewashed sidewalls and front porch, and with a hedged front garden, it is a delight to see and just a couple of minutes south of Coniston.

Recently refurbished to a high standard (March 2019), Stone Leys was built over 200 years ago and was the home of the wheelwright at Coniston Hall. Today it is the perfect base for enjoying the outdoors, with easy access to fells for walking and biking and the lake for messing about in boats.

The delights of Coniston village are around a 15 minute walk away, so everything really is here. Enjoying the very best of both worlds, Stone Leys is perfect for families and groups of friends!

Ground floor
Entrance into traditional porch, an ideal space for leaving your outdoor equipment; muddy boats, waterproofs or sailing gear, whatever you've been up to.

As you go in, to your right is the living room, bathed in light from the large windows and with three large comfy sofas, HD TV with Freesat box, oak beams and wood-burning stove, you'll be right at home. Next door is another living area but with children in mind - their own sofa, TV and Wi-Fi. You'll have trouble getting them out of there!

The modern kitchen and dining area is warm, welcoming and well-appointed with conventional electric cooker with ovens, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. From the kitchen there are views out to the cottage garden and babbling brook running alongside. There's also a laundry room with washing machine & tumble dryer.

Just off the kitchen there's a small rear porch - the perfect place for wet gear.

A beautiful, well maintained cottage in a lovely setting. The cottage was absolutely spotless when we checked in. Coppermines are always a pleasure to deal with and are efficient and friendly when responding to queries.

Great service all round. The cleaner was super calling in soon after we arrived with logs and asking how we were doing. The cottage is absolutely brilliant. Very high quality - the best we have ever used in the Lakes. Location is spot on for access to all activities and needs. Pub nearby was a revelation - great service.
