Mindfulness is waiting for you here in the Lakes...

In this technology driven day and age it’s not uncommon for us all to feel a little run down, tired and generally anxious. We constantly rush through life without stopping to take notice of what effect this has on our wellbeing.

Sound familiar? If you’re feeling this way then it may be time to take a step back from your everyday routine. Take time out, reset and recharge.

It may not come as a surprise to many that the Lake District is classed as the UK's number 1 visitor destination (hooray). Year after year, new and returning visitors are wowed by its stunning scenery, vibrant villages and incredible calendar of events.

Once home to Victorian philanthropist John Ruskin, spiritual home of Donald Campbell; water speed record legend and inspirational backdrop for Arthur Ransome & his Swallows and Amazons, Coniston village, situated in the heart of the Lake District has in its time attracted some pretty fascinating folk.

If you’re lucky enough to visit the area in the near future then you may just spot our newest resident running up and down the fells, swimming in the lake or quietly sipping a pint in the local pub.

Whatever your ability, there’s something for everyone when it comes to walking in and around Coniston

Whether it’s a family adventure, a gentle stroll or a challenging climb you are after, you won’t be disappointed by the Lakeland village of Coniston and the endless opportunities it offers to stretch the legs.

A winter wonderland awaits you in the Lake District this festive season!

The Lake District is picturesque all year round, but on a crisp winter’s day when the mountains are snow-capped it really is truly magical.

From Christmas shopping experiences to jolly events and concerts, there is plenty going on in the area this festive season.

Children will love to climb aboard the ‘Santa Express’ at Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway (selected dates from December 2nd), where they will get to meet Father Christmas himself. The jolly fella will also be making appearances at grottos across the county.
