Lake District Mountain Cottage Lodges

Just a mile above Coniston Village, high in the Coppermines Valley behind the towering Coniston Old Man mountain, sit 6 fantastic Lakeland cottage lodges. For those who love the countryside, these Lake District Mountain Cottages offer you the chance to explore the fascination of the fells, discover and even swim in beautiful waterfalls, or to simply relax, unwind & enjoy the clear mountain air, beneath a stunning panorama of peaks.

Coniston Water can be seen at the foot of the valley, which is reached by a road of pinnel stone construction, little changed from its original Victorian appearance. This unmade road is suitable for most vehicles except the lowest of sports cars, we do ask that our guests take care when driving up to the properties.

Our Victorian sawmill has been sympathetically converted to form 4 traditional cottage lodges of quality and character, ideal for couples, families and friends. The four main cottages, Sawyers, Carpenter’s, Millrace and Pelton Wheel are self-contained but are able to interconnect together in various combinations to sleep up to 22 people. These Mountain Cottages also enjoy the luxury of an exclusive hot tub, with one per property.

500 yards further down the valley lie two further Lake District mountain cottages; Slater Bob’s – with its incredible hot tub within its own fellside garden, enjoying unrivalled mountain views, and the very lovely Fellside Cottage – perfect for couples looking for a real Lakeland mountain retreat.

The mountains are calling, answer their call…
