Competitors and officials will travel from all over the world to gather in the beautiful Lakeland village of Coniston to witness the exhilarating 48th Power Boat Records Week (29th October - 2nd November 2018), on waters once graced by eminent record-breakers such as Malcolm and his son Donald Campbell.
Spectators will have the chance to see at first hand an awesome display of power, as competitors hit the water in an attempt to break both British and World Power Boat Records across a variety of classes.
From tiny hydroplanes, through inshore circuit racers to large offshore boats, there will be a huge variety of power boats taking part, travelling at speeds in excess of 150mph.
Records Week is the only event in the power boat racing calendar to bring together all classes of boat, and since its start in 1970 has become increasingly popular, attracting big names from the power boat world.
The event is free for spectators to enjoy, with the best views from the shoreline at either end of the measured run, there is also the opportunity to get a closer look at the boats and chat with owners and drivers in the pit area at the Coniston Boating Centre.
For a grandstand view of the action and a chance to take in the sights, sounds and smells of Records Week book yourself a stay in one of our Coniston cottages available for a full week, mid-week and weekend breaks.
