1. Landscape
Langdale is a beautiful valley situated in the heart of the English Lake District, a picturesque & serene haven, peace and happiness are sure to be found here. The famous Langdale Pikes (Pike O’Stickle, Harrison Stickle and Pavey Ark) situated on the northern side of the dale create a dramatic skyline and are one of the most recognisable features of the area. 2. Adventure
Understandably Langdale is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, from hikers and climbers to fell-runners & cyclists. The area enjoys some of the best valley/fell walking and climbing the Lake District has to offer with excellent facilities for mountain/path cycling, rock climbing & gorge scrambling.
For those looking for a challenging experience, England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, can be accessed from the valley, however don’t be put off the valley also offers a range of fantastic low level walks for the less experienced enthusiast.
For cyclists there are numerous routes available including some ultra-demanding climbs, through to the moderate 11 mile long Great Langdale Valley cycle trail & the 10 mile long ‘Tour de Langdales’ route.
For runners the Great Langdale Road Races host 10k, half marathon and marathon races every year, including the Festive ‘Christmas Pudding 10k’.
In essence the valley is an outdoor paradise!
