The Black Bull, Coniston

Booking is strongly advised, but not essential, at this extremely popular pub in the centre of Coniston. Serving a varied menu using locally-sourced produce in their bar and dining rooms. Booking not required.

Steam, Coniston

This hugely popular eatery has reopened for 2025 as a pop-up bistro at the Meadowdore cafe in Coniston village and has a small number of tables for non-residents for dinner Thursdays to Sundays. Its menu features ingredients sourced from a wealth of local farmers & producers and its ethos is relaxing dining with a great atmosphere. Booking required. Back open and serving an extensive menu using fresh local produce, booking is advised for this very popular village centre pub. Booking not required.

The Green Housekeeper

A friendly cafe in Coniston village centre, The Geen Housekeeper serves homecooked food from locally sourced ingredients. Open 10am to 4pm daily. Booking not required.

Herdwick’s Cafe and Bistro

Herdwicks Cafe is located on Coniston, next to the new Bluebird Car and Coach Park. The cafe serves tea, coffee, a selection of freshly baked homemade cakes, light lunches, and hearty meals daily. Booking not required.

The Yewdale and Enzo’s Café Bistro

Booking is not required at either the Yewdale Inn Pub or their adjacent café. Walk-ins are welcome on a first come-first served basis and their menu is also available as takeaways. Further information can be found here. Booking not required.

Simon Rogan at Home

UK’s best value Michelin starred takeaway – available in your holiday home

Renowned chef and restauranteur Simon Rogan, owner of iconic two Michelin-starred restaurant L’Enclume and one Michelin-starred restaurant Rogan & Co, Cartmel, in the Lake District, has launched ‘Simon Rogan at home’ – a three-course menu delivery service, which is now available for delivery to selected local holiday homes in the Lake District for delivery on Friday’s and Saturday’s.

The award-winning, weekly changing menus are prepared with hyperlocal produce grown on Simon’s Our Farm and with ingredients sourced from trusted suppliers, all cooked on the day by chefs from the restaurants.

You can also add a bespoke wine pairing to your order, and delight in carefully selected wines chosen by Simon’s team of award-winning wine team. Alternatively, you could choose from a selection of drinks, including sparkling wine, beer, cocktails, and soft drinks.

The three-course ‘at home’ dining experience is priced at £45 per person and includes home-baked bread, a starter, main course, and dessert. All our meals are available for collection at Our Shop in Cartmel or for delivery with easy to follow instructions and videos.
