Lake District Cottages in the Langdale Valley
The Langdale Valleys (Great Langdale & Little Langdale) are a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, from hikers and climbers to fell-runners & cyclists. The area enjoys some of the best walking and climbing the Lake District has to offer. The famous Langdale Pikes, which are situated on the northern side of the dale are one of the most recognisable features of the area, creating a dramatic skyline.
England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, can also be accessed from Langdale, perfect for those looking for a challenging experience. However, don’t be put off if scaling the giddy heights of the Scafells isn’t for you, the valley also offers a range of fantastic low-level walks for those looking for gentler, but no less spectacular walks.
It is no surprise that the variety of pikes, fells, mountain tarns, such as the much photographed Blea Tarn, and picturesque small hamlets make the area a photographer’s paradise and it is not hard to see why people return to this area of natural beauty year after year.
