The Bluebird Car and Coach Park is a brand new amenity for the Lake District village of Coniston. Located next dor to The Ruskin Museum, the car and coach park provides safe and reliable parking for those wishing to visit Donald Campbell’s legendary Bluebird K7.

The car park is also fantastically placed for walks to Coniston Old Man, to see the Coppermines Waterfalls, visit Coniston Water lake shore and explore the independent shops, cafes and pubs in the village.

Partially opening on Friday 21st March, once complete The Bluebird Car and Coach Park will offer parking for over 70 cars, 6 coaches (bookable online in advance), free public toilets, a information centre offering free walking and cycling trial maps, an e-bike hire centre, EV charging and a bus stop with services running into the rest of the Lakes.

Once you’re parked up, there’s so much to see and do in Coniston.

Catch a lake cruise from Coniston Boating Centre, enjoy a picnic by the lake, discover the stunning Coppermines Waterfalls and maybe even go for a wild-swim in a crystal clear mountain pool.

There are also spectacular walking and cycling trails direct from the new car park. Walkers can hike iconic peaks such as The Old Man of Coniston, Wetherlam and Swirl How to name but a few.

Mountain tarns such as Lever’s Water and Low Water can be reached via walks from the car park as well as walks along the lake shore or to the ever-popular and beautiful Tarn Hows.

There is an abundance of incredible mountain biking and road cycling routes to discover too, making The Bluebird Car and Coach Park the perfect place to start your Lake District adventure.

For the first time, coaches will be able to book and reserve parking in Coniston. Coaches can book their space and purchase group tickets to The Ruskin Museum at the same time, from the same place.

Car Clubs can also book ahead online, reserving spaces for up to 30 cars and booking group visits to see Bluebird at The Ruskin Museum at the same time.
