Quick note to say we really enjoyed our recent stay. We've been using Coppermines for well over 20 years and have stayed almost every year since at different properties. Easy to use web site, helpful staff in the office in the centre of Coniston.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage has everything that you need and is in a fabulous location tucked away in Coniston village. Lots of walks on doorstep and we hardly used the car. Brilliant owners and the welcome Prosecco and chocolates was a lovely surprise on our arrival. Thank you Coppermines for your usual high standard of service and I’m looking forward to being back in Coniston for a few weeks in the summer.

Every year we come to this cottage & we are never disappointed - weather was so mild & we were lucky enough to see the speed boats try to break the speed limit on Coniston Water. Visited Kendal, Torver, Windermere & Ambleside - Grasmere & Rydal Hall, some spectacular views while walking. The owner is a fabulous host & this cottage is our home from home. I honestly cannot fault it - everything you need to compliment your stay is here! Roll on 2025.

We have had a most enjoyable stay here at Kirkbeck. The cottage is delightful, everything we needed. So nice to relax and light the wood burner on these darker evenings. Location is excellent, quiet but very central. The owners were great hosts. Beautiful cottage, lovely Coniston we will return. Thank you for a memorable stay! Have been so lucky to see the northern lights!

We had a great stay in this lovely, well-equipped cottage. It has a perfect location, so quiet and peaceful. The weather was glorious - sunny with clear blue skies everyday so we did all the walks/hikes we had planned and more. The views from the top of The Old Man were breathtaking. We wouldn't hesitate to return to the cottage. Thank you.

Coming all the way from Hong Kong, we did not really know what to expect. All we knew was that we needed a space to decompress, release and take in some big breaths of fresh air. We are leaving this cosy cottage and town feeling refreshed, fulfilled and very content. A big thank you to the owner and the warm embrace of all the mountains around us, for making our little adventure out here worthwhile. :)

We have now returned from a wonderful week at 1 Kirkbeck Cottage. We found the cottage to be extremely comfortable, clean and having the owner live locally was really handy. 1 Kirkbeck is well located with a choice of pubs and cafes just a few minutes walk away, as is the Ruskin Museum and lake.

Lovely cottage, convenient for village pubs, shops and local walks. Made to feel very welcome by owner, who lives next door. She was very helpful and offered a spare car parking space for our family who visited for the day while we were there. I was very impressed with the empty kitchen cupboards for our own food products, this is not often provided. The kitchen cupboards were very clean, tidy and provided everything required without being over-crowded with unnecessary items, as we sometimes find in other properties. The house was very clean and well-organised. This is our 3rd visit to this property, and we will definitely be back.

We found the cottage warm, clean, comfortable, and somewhere we would be very happy to return to. The owner introduced herself on arrival and again the following morning and was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the riverside setting and the sound of the flowing water. We ate out at the Black Bull Inn on each of our three days. It’s a pub we have enjoyed going to for many years, so it was great to have it just a short walk away.

Very pleased with the cottage and the booking experience. Cottage was a real home from home and in a great location. Fantastic that you offer bookings either Monday-Friday or Friday-Monday, this is so much more flexible than other cottage companies, and fits in much better with taking time off work.

A quick impromptu mid-week break in an ideal location. Weather unpredictable but as expected this time of year, we were still out walking all day. Spotless, all mod cons and very comfortable. The location couldn't be more perfect. We will be back ? in warmer climes to enjoy sitting by the stream.
