Ground Floor
A typical Lakeland porch invites you into the property and doubles up as an ideal place to leave your walking boots. There's even a stone bench to help. The living room is full of charm and character - beamed ceiling, massive stone hearth with real fireplace, big slate flags covered with rugs & a big cosy leather sofa ideal for curling up in along with TV, DVD & CD player. Up a couple of steps is a separate raised dining area with oak detailing. By contrast there is a modern galley kitchen, with handcrafted slate worktops, big gas range, dishwasher, fridge & microwave.
First Floor
From the living room, there's a hidden narrow stairwell that leads you up, past the pictures of Herdwick sheep, to a landing with low beams (mind your head!).
Bedroom 1 - magnificent double 4-poster bed with dressing area & en-suite bathroom with walk in shower & WC.
Bedroom 2 - king size bed or twin 2'6" single beds
Modern house bathroom with shower & WC.
Outside
Adjacent to the cottage is a beautifully designed and spacious terraced cottage garden. This private hideaway is a lovely spot to while away the evenings and catch the last rays of sunshine. The lower part of the garden offers a place to wander and admire the local slate structures dotted around whilst the upper area offers an abundance of seating areas amongst the shrubs. Beautiful lake views across to Coniston Water, and the green hills of Grizedale beyond, can be enjoyed from the highest level.
Hand painted signs draw your attention to the lockable bicycle storage area which can fit up to 4 bikes. There is also a dog kennel area, should you need to keep an eye on your four legged friend. For fans of mud, an external water tap is readily available, handy for washing off and cleaning up.
Complementing the property is a bright and modern heated utility room, complete with washer, dryer and freezer. This room also contains a useful drying rack, perfect for hanging up wet clothes after a day exploring.
