Description At A Glance Virtual Tour Location Testimonials

Bridge House is the largest of the Bridge Cottages and one of the oldest buildings in Coniston village. Over 300 years, they have formerly been the village post office, a butcher and around the beginning of the 1900s, a well-known restaurant. Though centrally located for all the amenities Coniston has to offer, Bridge House is pleasantly secluded and peaceful.

A spacious village cottage, Bridge House has plenty of room for up to 8 guests, with a large living room and vast kitchen/diner as well as 4 en suite bedrooms cottage plus a private hot tub. The house is ideally situated in the centre of Coniston and is just a short walk from the local stores, gift shops, cafe's and several fantastic pubs. Popular valley and mountain walks including the Old Man of Coniston & Tarn Hows can be accessed from the front door and the lake shore is less than a 15 minute stroll away.

Bridge House is the perfect base for anyone wanting to explore this spectacular area, spend the day walking, sight-seeing or on the water. Then return to relax in the bubbling hot tub or cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Perfect!

Bridge House is plenty large enough for 8 but if you have a bigger group, you can be linked to The Bridge Suite next door, for an additional two bedrooms (and bathroom) thus extending the sleeping capacity from 8 to 12. If you wanted even more room, you could also link, via the porch, to The Old Post Cottage, which has room for 4, and so groups of up to 16 are easily and comfortably accommodated together. Ideal for those big family get-togethers and celebrations.

Ground Floor
A slated entrance leads you into a huge kitchen/dining room, which can seat up to 20. Double hobs, ovens and slate work tops makes catering for big groups easy and hopefully hassle-free! The kitchen is fully fitted with gas range cooker & large hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer & fridge/freezer.

The sitting room has ample space for the largest of groups to relax comfortably in. The central focus of the room is the impressive slate log fire, perfect for admiring on a cold winters night. There is also a TV & DVD player to keep the little (and big) ones entertained.

To help keep the living areas tidy the house also benefits from a cloakroom, perfect for wet jackets, boots and bags.

There is also a separate WC, helpful should you just need to nip in from the hot tub.

First Floor
There's plenty of room upstairs too, with 4 doubles or twins and all with their own en suite bath/shower rooms.

Bedroom 1 - king size bed or twin 2'6" single beds, en-suite shower & WC
Bedroom 2 - king size bed or twin 2'6" single beds en-suite bathroom with shower & WC
Bedroom 3 - king size bed or twin 2'6" single beds en-suite shower room with WC
