One of the best places to be based in Coniston is along Lake Road, ideally located for pubs and restaurants in the village and within easy walking to the Lake and surrounding Coniston fells.

The charming Hazel Cottage is situated just off Lake Road, a modern detached single storey property, with a garage (great for bike storage) and drive. Hazel Cottage is perfect for families & friends looking to park up their car and explore the local area on foot.

Care and attention to detail is apparent throughout this comfortable cottage and the owners have managed to create a real 'home from home' feel with all who visit feeling instantly at ease here. Families will find the abundance of bedrooms and bathrooms a godsend and visitors of all ages will appreciate the quiet solitude the rear garden brings.

Ground floor
A small conservatory acts as the cottage's entrance and this is perfect for leaving your outdoor gear. From the hall, left leads into the sitting room, with its comfy sofas, wooden floors and real fire. Light and unfussy, this is a great room to relax in, after a full day on the fells or out sightseeing. There's a TV, radio,& CD player available here.

Adjacent to the sitting room is the dining area for six and a modern, well-appointed kitchen with double electric oven & hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher.

There are three bedrooms, the master bedroom has French doors leading out to an attractive and enclosed lawned garden, complete with garden furniture. The perfect space for younger family members to stretch their legs or simply a space for adults to switch off. There's also a house bathroom and separate en suite W.C off bedroom 3.

Bedroom 1 - king size bed with French doors to the rear garden and luxury en suite bathroom with underfloor heating, bath and separate shower.
Bedroom 2 - double bed.
Bedroom 3 - twin single beds with en-suite WC & wash basin.

House bathroom with feature bath, shower over & WC.

Beyond the en suite bathroom is a useful utility room / laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside
To the rear of the cottage is an attractive & secluded enclosed garden complete with garden furniture & small charcoal barbecue.

For outdoor enthusiast there's access to the cottage garage, offering secure bike/canoe storage with water tap & hose.

Coniston is simply an excellent base for any Lake District holiday. The village is packed with friendly pubs, local shops and lively cafes and there is incredible walking straight from the village centre, including the iconic Coniston Old Man. The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country's most beautiful scenery.

For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit. While on the eastern shores of the lake lies Brantwood, the Victorian home of John Ruskin, where visitors can explore the historic house and vibrant arts centre and enjoy some delicious food from The Terrace cafe with its breath-taking lake and mountain views.

The wider Lake District area is also very easily accessible from Coniston, with popular destinations such as Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere just a short drive away.

In short, Coniston offers everything you could possibly want of a Lake District holiday - all right on your doorstep.

Lovely cottage in a great location for Coniston. Plenty of parking and a secure garden is great for the dog. The place was very well-equipped and plenty big enough. We did report as soon as we could about the bin cupboard handle being faulty. We would definitely return should we go back to Coniston.

A lovely holiday cottage in a great location to explore the Lake District. We felt like we relaxed straight away into what is a very comfortable and spacious home from home. The kitchen has everything you could need (we are a foodie family so hard to impress) and we were impressed. The new en-suite to the master bedroom is AMAZING. Mum really enjoyed the bath and the shower is the best any of us have ever used! Thank you so much for your thought and care over every detail. We can't wait to come back. :)

Cottage was excellent, very clean and had everything you needed. We have been previously, but the new en-suite bathroom for the master bedroom makes this an exceptional cottage - and it was a lovely surprise when we arrived. The garden is a lovely sun trap with very comfortable garden furniture. We have stayed in several cottages with yourselves, all of which been very nice, but we now consider this to be our favourite. We will be booking again.

Lovely property with modern kitchen and living room. Kitchen is really well stocked with everything you expect to find in a kitchen. We’ve stayed many times in Coniston previously and this is probably our favourite property so far.

Another great holiday in your superb cottage. In one of the most ideal locations. Great for walking to CW and the village. We've been booking through you for 17 years, twice a year, and it's still our favourite place.

The cottage was amazing. We were looking for something with two bathrooms as we were two couples. So the additional; toilet and modern shower helped with this. The garden was very safe for our dogs amd the garden furniture was very welcome. We would book this cottage again.

Great service. The email to advise when the cottage was ready was received on route across. This allowed us to head straight to the cottage, earlier than we expected. Brilliant. Thanks again. We would definitely return.

Our family has stayed at Hazel Cottage many times. It is clean, comfortable and well laid out with everything you need. The enclosed garden is great for the dog and sitting out on fine days. The cottage is well located close to the lake and the village. Would definitely recommend.
