Situated within the spectacular Langdale Valley, this contemporary cottage for up to 4 guests offers stylish accommodation with incredible mountain walks from the door

Named after the local sheep who can often been found munching the grass in the front garden, Herdwick Place is ideally situated in the incredible Langdale Valley.

Guests lucky enough to stay here have some of the country's finest walking on their doorstep, with stunning mountain & valley walks nearby. For cyclists there are numerous routes available from the door including some ultra demanding climbs, through to the moderate 11 mile long Great Langdale Valley cycle trail which runs right by the house.

This mid-terraced contemporary house offers a modern, stylish and cosy base from which to explore the Langdale valley and beyond. The house is tastefully appointed throughout with local art and crafts, much of which follows the charming Herdwick theme. Large windows give the house an open feel with excellent views across Great Langdale Beck to Lingmoor Fell beyond.

Perfectly positioned, Herdwick Place is located on the outskirts of the village of Chapel Stile and is just a short walk from the local shop, cafe and the popular Wainwrights' Inn. Delightful stay at Herdwick Place situated in the beautiful Langdale Valley with lovely walks on the doorstep and a good choice of pubs nearby serving good food and drinks. The property itself is comfortable, clean and well maintained with all amenities you could wish for. I have been visiting the Lake District for decades and Coppermines Cottages is my first choice of holiday accommodation.

Herdwick Place exceeded all our expectations - it is not only in a fantastic location with great walks from the door and superb parking, it is finished to a very high standard with everything you could possibly need for a brilliant stay. We particularly enjoyed the range of books and guides available and the pool table! Easy access to a very well stocked local shop and a pub with great food and a Quiz night was also a massive bonus. We would very much recommend a stay at this property!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Herdwick Place in Chapel Stile. The cottage is excellent, with some nice extra touches you don't get with other cottages. We have been coming up to The Lakes for over 20 years and this is the first time at Herdwick Place and i'm sure it won't be the last.

A very well-equipped, clean & comfortable place to stay in a beautiful location with excellent walks from the doorstep. The food at the Britannia Inn was very good and just a pretty 15-min walk along the river, and the local shop was only a 3 or 4-minute walk away. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was very clean and welcoming, the directions were clear and we loved the location. We’ve booked many Coppermines cottages through the years and would stay here again with our dog. The scenery was nice and the games room was a highlight on the rainy evenings.

Thanks again for the most magical week at Herdwick Place. The changes and improvements to the house have been most appreciated! We stayed here as a couple with bump in my tummy and with a baby - this week our 3 year old girl walked 3 Wainwrights. Super selection of games, books and helpful additions such as the super-wide stairgate. Can't wait to bring our family back again - see you in April 2022. Thank you.

Thank you for another fantastic holiday at Herdwick Place. This is our third visit and in these slightly scary and uncertain times it has been lovely to come to your spotlessly clean home for our delayed holiday. You have clearly gone to great efforts to keep us safe, which is greatly appreciated. We loved the addition of the bench and table out the front where we happily watched the world go by. We have had some wonderful walks and it has been such a tonic to be here - we have already booked for next year.

What a lovely week we had at Herdwick Place and thank you for the treats you left for us. We have eaten all of the chutney on our sandwiches this week and our little boy is a big fan of the jam! We visit the area frequently and we usually stay around Elterwater but we will definitely be back here - and also recommending Herdwick Place to our friends and family. Thanks again!
