Against a dramatic backdrop of mountains and rolling hills, Scarr Head Cottage is a picture-perfect image of a Lake District home and offers exceptional accommodation within a truly special rural location.

Ground Floor
Entrance from the parking area into the beautiful country kitchen complete with slate flagstone flooring, stylish units and all modern Neff appliances including, oven, induction hob, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen is completed with a dining table and chairs, ideal for relaxed morning breakfasts or sociable evening drinks. Off the kitchen is a very useful utility room with sink, fridge and freezer washing machine, tumble dryer and storage space for outdoor gear.

An internal hallway leads through to the sitting and dining room. Here, traditional features merge with modern comforts to create a homely space which is welcoming to all who enter. Characterful beams combine with the stone flooring and wood panelling to create a traditional Lakeland ambience. The modern log burning stove and comfortable furnishings ensure the room is as warm as it is welcoming. A Smart TV completes the room. Three windows, each with its own window seat, flood the room with light and a glass panelled door leads to an outside patio area. At the other end of the room, the dining space with table and chairs for 6 is the ideal space to enjoy a hearty meal after a day spent exploring.

Also off the hallway is a useful downstairs cloakroom with W.C. and basin.

First Floor
A curved staircase leads to a large landing area lit with its own window. Off the landing are three bedrooms, shower room and the family bathroom.

Completing the first floor is a large, family bathroom which offers modern, luxurious facilities yet retains much character. There is a large walk-in shower, separate bath, W.C. and basin.

Outside
Spacious lawned garden which enjoys a peaceful location to the side of the cottage. With space for relaxing, playing and dining, the garden a haven of tranquillity in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Footpaths run from cottage door to the iconic Old Man of Coniston mountain as well as to the stunning Banishead Quarry, dramatic Goat's Water and the ancient packhorse route Walna Scar Road.

Torver and the nearby Crake & Woodland Valleys, are beautiful and tranquil areas well worth visiting and exploring. The landscapes here have changed little over time, with farming and forestry still very much in evidence. In springtime the nearby woods that dot the landscape are carpeted with wild garlic and scented bluebells, and is a place where the wildlife and bird song of the Lake District can be truly appreciated. Torver is home to a great pub, popular cafe and enjoys easy access to both the lake for water sports and the fells for walking.

The nearby village of Coniston is simply an excellent base for any Lake District holiday. The village is packed with friendly pubs, local shops and lively cafes and there is incredible walking straight from the village centre, including the iconic Coniston Old Man. The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country's most beautiful scenery.

For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit. While on the eastern shores of the lake lies Brantwood, the Victorian home of John Ruskin, where visitors can explore the historic house and vibrant arts centre and enjoy some delicious food from The Terrace cafe with its breath-taking lake and mountain views.

The wider Lake District area is also very easily accessible from Coniston, with popular destinations such as Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere just a short drive away.

In short, Coniston offers everything you could possibly want of a Lake District holiday - all right on your doorstep.
