Ground floor
Upon entering the cottage you step into a cosy, oak-beamed living space with comfy seating facing a log-burning Victorian range, which looks out over the pretty countryside. At the rear of the room is the cottage's tasteful, shaker-style kitchen which includes a breakfast bar with seating for 4, plus modern appliances including, oven, hob, built-in microwave, dishwasher and integrated fridge.
Up the stairs, to the back of the cottage is a useful utility room with a washer /dryer and small freezer. Through here you can access the back door and walk straight out onto the fells. Perfect for four legged guests.
First floor
Bedroom 1 - king size bed, plenty of wardrobe storage and with stunning countryside outlook including seasonal lake views.
Spacious and stylish house bathroom with walk-in shower, W.C. and basin.
Second floor
Bedroom 2 - twin single beds, eaves storage and views of Yewdale Crag through the skylights.
Outside
There is a small patio to the front of the cottage which acts as a little sun trap, and has a table and chairs to enjoy the seasonal views across the fields and woods to Grizedale Forest and the lake in winter.
Travelling with a dog?
We can offer free use of a 1 acre enclosed field in Coniston village. Use by arrangement only. Please contact the office for availability.

Coniston is simply an excellent base for any Lake District holiday. The village is packed with friendly pubs, local shops and lively cafes and there is incredible walking straight from the village centre, including the iconic Coniston Old Man. The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country's most beautiful scenery.
For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit. While on the eastern shores of the lake lies Brantwood, the Victorian home of John Ruskin, where visitors can explore the historic house and vibrant arts centre and enjoy some delicious food from The Terrace cafe with its breath-taking lake and mountain views.
The wider Lake District area is also very easily accessible from Coniston, with popular destinations such as Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere just a short drive away.
