Experience Real Luxury Here in the Lakes

Sumptuous four poster beds, inviting hot tubs and cosy real log fires are just some of the treats you can expect to find when staying with us here at The Coppermines Lakes Cottages.

Selected for their idyllic locations, charming attributes & comfortable interiors our cottages come in a variety of styles, from small and cosy terraced properties, mountain hideaways offering breath-taking views, luxurious farmhouses and modern design led apartments.

At the pinnacle of our offering is the magnificent Gate House, Coniston. An award winning, Visit England ‘5 Star Gold’ Georgian property with historical links.

Once home to the famous lakes artist Alfred Heaton Cooper in the early 20th century, Gate House has been refurbished and is now the epitome of an exceptional Lakeland home. Complete with superb views and peaceful situ, this outstanding home lends itself to romantics, offering a luxurious, effortlessly stylish and simply alluring base.

Upon opening the front door you are instantly struck by the opulence of this home, a myriad of bright, inviting rooms, all waiting to be discovered. Downstairs you are spoilt for choice by not one, but three comfortable living areas. Full of charm, character and the latest mod-cons they all encompass quirky personal adornments, wood burning stoves & an abundance of cosy seating ideal for curling up in with a glass or two of your favourite tipple. The pièce de résistance can be found in the spacious kitchen & dining area which occupies the rear of the house, again complete with the latest mod cons and personal touches. This inviting area offers countryside views over the paved rear garden, up Church Beck and into the woodland beyond.

Upstairs there are four sumptuous bedrooms all complete with beautiful en-suite shower and/or bathrooms. Each enjoys a smart TV, beautiful furnishings and fantastic views. The en suite bathrooms with their free standing tubs have to be seen to be believed and have been lavishly decorated in keeping with the Georgian era.

Should you be able to tear yourselves away from this opulent hideaway, there’s a plethora of Lake District delights to explore from the front door too!

A 3 night weekend break at Gate House this winter starts from as low as £824!.

Don’t just take our word for it…

We’ve had a wonderful week in a fabulous house. Whilst the weather was not great the house kept us all cosy and warm. We loved all the special touches like the welcome bag and the bathrooms were stunning!

Over the years we have visited many holiday homes for our annual family get together. Some have been very good and others not so. Gate House is by far the best of the best and we would recommend it to anyone. Hope to return soon.

We have stayed in many cottages before but this is our favourite! We walked through the door and instantly felt at home and the stresses and strains of life began to ease. Lots of walking, eating and drinking, sleeping well in the comfy beds & listening to the water in the beck all mean we return home reluctantly, we would much rather stay!

Hope to return soon.
