It’s not just dancing daffodils and spring lambs playing in the Lakes this Easter. There’s plenty of family-focused events happening across the Lake District this April to keep your little hatchlings happy all holiday. Here are some of our favourite family days out in the Lake District this Easter:

Easter Egg Hunt – Brockhole, Windermere, 2 – 24 April, 2022

Search for the Great Golden Bunny, hiding somewhere within the gorgeous graounds of Brockhole on the shores of lake Windermere.  Take a photo with our Great Golden Bunny when you find him to claim your prize! More details can be found here.  

Millerbeck Light Railway – 17th and 18th April, 2022

A must for younger families, this charming miniature railway is situated in the private grounds of Millerbeck House, in the Lakeland village of Staveley-in-Cartmel, near Newby Bridge – ¼ mile south from Lake Windermere and the National Trust property of Fell Foot in Cumbria. The railway is run by volunteers and offers Easter themed rides on Sunday 17th April and Monday 18th April. Pre-booking required

Charlie’s Chocolate Extravaganza – Holker Hall, Saturday 16th April 2022

A magical interactive children’s outdoor theatre experience, ‘Charlie’s Chocolate Extravaganza’ is within the beautiful surroundings of Holker Hall Gardens on Saturday 16th April. Join The Storytellers for this magical, interactive family experience. With lots of surprises, singing and of course – chocolate! Pre-booking recommended

Happy Birthday Peter Rabbit – World of Beatrix Potter, 9th – 18th April, 2022

This Easter the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness are celebrating Peter Rabbit’s 120th birthday! Join Peter for afternoon tea and have your photo taken with the famous bunny. Find out more

Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway *15th – 18th April 2022

Pick up a quiz sheet and look out for the giant Easter eggs along this iconic and stunning 7 mile narrow gauge railway as you ride through some simply incredible Lake District scenery. A fabulous day out! Find out more
