There’s plenty to keep your little bunnies busy this Easter with egg-citing family-friendly events taking place across the Lake District throughout April.

Coniston Easter Fayre, Coniston Institute, Saturday 20th April 2019, 11am – 3pm

If you’re lucky enough to be staying in one of our Coniston cottages these holidays then you may wish to drop into the village’s Easter Fayre on Saturday 20th April. The fayre features a range of local produce and food stalls, children’s games and activities as well as an Easter Egg hunt around the village.

Meet the Easter Bunny at Millerbeck Light Railway, Easter Sunday and Monday, 2019

This charming, miniature railway is situated in private grounds towards the southern tip of Windermere and prides itself on being the Lakes best-kept secret, only operating on a few selected dates throughout the year. This Easter Sunday and Monday you can ride the narrow gauge railway through the Easter themed gardens and meet the Easter Bunny after your journey.

Fell Foot Park: Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt, Sunday 21st April, 2019 11am until 3pm

Follow the clues around this picturesque lakeside park with stunning lake and mountain views to find your prize. Afterwards, there is a children’s adventure playground to visit, grounds to explore as well as an inviting café serving hot and cold refreshments. Fell Foot Park and Millerbeck Light Railway are located less than a mile apart so together make an ideal afternoon out, particularly for families with small children.

Teddies Go Free at Muncaster Castle 19th-22nd April 2019

Muncaster Castle is offering free entry for every child accompanied by both an adult and their favourite cuddly companion over the Easter weekend. Activities on offer include children’s craft sessions and a giant Easter Egg Hunt as well as their year-round attractions such as the spectacular Himalayan Gardens, the Hawk and Owl Centre and the historic (and supposedly haunted) castle itself.

Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway TeddyFest, 30th March – 22nd April 2019

Hop aboard the La’al Ratty this Easter and children traveling with a teddy and an accompanying adult can travel for free. This narrow gauge railway travels 7 miles into the beautiful Eskdale valley through spectacular coastal and mountain scenery with plenty of springtime animals and wildlife to spot along the way.

Lake Maze Farm Park – Open throughout the Easter holidays

Little animal lovers can meet the latest spring editions to the Maze Park Farm throughout Easter with lambs, ferrets, pigs, llamas, goats and horses to befriend. There’s also an Easter Egg hunt, tractor rides, trampolines, an indoor soft play area, a straw bale maze and lots more – plenty to keep the whole family entertained this Easter.

Zog Activity Trail at Grizedale Forest, throughout March and April

Head on an exciting forest journey with Zog and his friends at Grizedale Forest this Easter. Follow the trail markers through the woods to find familiar characters from the story, collect stars as you learn, and complete interesting challenges along the way. After you’ve completed your trail there’s plenty of more things to see and do including curious forest sculptures to find, an adventure playground to explore and a forest café with homemade cakes to sample.

Brockhole Visitors Centre: Hunt the Herdy and Easter Egg Trail 30th March – 30th April, 2019

Situated on the shores of Windermere Brockhole Visitors Centre includes a fantastic children’s adventure playground, gardens, café and a whole host of other activities including tree top nets, caving experience and lots more. This Easter your little ones have 20 escaped Herdy sheep to find in all sorts of unusual places!

Easter Egg Hunt: Wray Castle Good Friday to Easter Monday, 10am -4pm, 2019

Wray Castle is a gothic revival castle sitting on the shores of Lake Windermere with turrets, towers and grounds. This year this castle is hosting an Easter Egg hunt with a difference; That’s Not My Nest! Match your chosen bird to the right nest to receive a chocolatey prize.
