Find Your Dream Wedding Venue

A memorable wedding starts with a memorable location and selecting a venue is one of the most important decisions you will make during your wedding planning process.

Here are our tops tips to help you find your perfect venue…

1. Location is key

This is very important, are you looking to get married locally? Maybe somewhere further afield that holds significance to your relationship? What backdrop to your wedding are you looking for – a city scape , countryside or mountains? What are the logistics of getting to and from the wedding venue for you and your guests? Are there plenty of guest accommodation options nearby? Is it realistic to ask your family and friends to travel, and if so how many of your expected guests would? Once you have decided on a general location do some research. Go online and try to narrow down potential venues which suit your requirements. It is also worth contacting the local registrar’s office for the county who will hold details of all locally licenced venues.

2. Talk Money

This is really important. Before setting off to view any venues, work out a realistic budget and keep this in mind. Ask the venue if they accommodate for different wedding budgets? Do they offer wedding packages? Or are they available for dry hire weddings to allow you to keep your budget under tight control?

3. What’s your wedding style

Each wedding is unique however which style does your dream wedding fit into? Traditional, contemporary, rustic, bohemian? Keep this in mind when considering venues, does the venue ‘fit’ in with your chosen style? Are you looking for somewhere outdoorsy where your wedding photography can feature a backdrop of incredible scenery? Or is your vibe more wedding luxury? Do you want to engage with nature during your ceremony or is a bougie wedding where you can spoil your guests (and yourself) more your thing? Are you looking for a rustic wedding barn or sleek hotel? Once you’ve decide on your wedding style then you can focus your search on the wedding venue that best matches you as a unique couple.

4. Be inquisitive

Ask as many questions as you can leading up to and during your wedding viewing. This is your special day and as such leave nothing to chance. What is included in their offer? If you are unsure then simply ask. Also take a notepad with you so you can jot down any key points. This will come in useful should you be torn between two similar venues.

5. Visit the venue more than once

Before confirming make sure that you have all the information you need to hand. First impressions count however there is nothing wrong with asking to view the venue again just be extra sure you’ve found the one! Try visiting at a different time of day or in different weather to see if you still feel the same.
