If you fancy a getaway this half-term and love a good bargain, then look no further and head to the beautiful Lake District, where you will find plenty of holidays for less. Here at The Coppermines Lakes Cottages we have only a few cottages available for weekend, full week and mid-week breaks during the half term holidays (commencing Friday 26th May and Monday 29th May), so there is no excuse not to escape to the UK’s number 1 holiday destination!

Tarn Foot, Seathwaite (Available from Friday 26th May, weekend break £313)

Tarn Foot is a historic cottage dating back to the 1700’s set in the heart of Seathwaite, a beautiful unspoilt mountain valley, with a backdrop of crags & streams. This is the ideal location for those seeking peace and tranquillity – ideal for those who love walking in the great outdoors. This cosy romantic cottage is perfect for couples. Whilst thoroughly modernised it retains many of its original features, ensuring that the charm of this beautiful property has been retained. Providing a comfortable and well equipped bolt-hole, complete with a wood burning stove, the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine after a day of exploring. The cottage sleeps 2 people and is currently available at the special price of £313 for a three night weekend break.

Pelton Wheel, Coppermines Valley (Available from Monday 29th May, midweek break £508)

Part of Coppermines Mountain Cottages, Pelton Wheel offers you the perfect chance to explore the fascination of the fells or the chance to simply sit back and relax, disturbed by nothing other than the sound of quietly grazing Herdwick sheep.
This delightful cottage sleeping up to four people is set against a backdrop of stunning mountain peaks and offers the opportunity to breathe nothing other than the purest mountain air. Oh and there’s a fantastic hot tub which looks out towards the Old Man of Coniston. It is currently available for the half-term holiday, mid-week for the special price of £508.

Wainwright Cottage, Coniston (Available from Friday 26th May, full week break £629)

A former quarryman’s cottage with thick walls and an open fire, it is the epitome of a traditional Lakeland cottage. As well as its delightful character and charm, what makes Wainwright Cottage special is its superb location. Perched just above the village, the cottage is a gentle five minute walk from Coniston’s numerous pubs, cafes and shops, but away from the hubbub.
This cosy, end of terrace, two bedroomed cottage is perfectly positioned for exploring Coniston and the surrounding fells nearby. Fantastic lake views are offered from inside this beautiful cottage and also from the small patio garden across the lane. The cottage comfortably sleeps up to four people and what’s more, late-availability discount means it’s also only £629 for half-term week.

As you will discover the Lake District, Cumbria is packed full of activities for everyone to enjoy. You can while away the hours cruising one of the many Lakes. Enjoy the quiet solitude of the fells from horse back. Venture out on two wheels and discover the myriad of cycle routes weaving across the county. Tuck into a gastronomic delight or two at one of the many award winning Inns and restaurants. Become a culture vulture and discover Ruskin’s inspirational home Brantwood or enjoy an architectural delight in the form of Ballie-Scott’s Blackwell. Or if that all sounds too much like hard work, kick off your shoes, pour a glass of your favourite drop and simply tarry a while and take in the views.
