There’s plenty of adrenaline-filled adventures on offer in Grizedale Forest, from accessible, family-focussed mountain biking trails to black runs and the red-graded North Face Trail there’s mile upon mile of forest tracks to explore. One of our favourite activities on offer is Go Ape – swing through the trees and fly down zip lines in this thrilling forest adventure. Like the sound of Grizedale? Stay in the heart of the action at the Forestry Commission’s Low Bowkerstead Cottage and help give back to the forest. All bookings placed at Low Bowkerstead will directly benefit the upkeep of the surrounding forest and local area.
If it’s adventure your looking for then you may get more than you bargained for at Honister! Home to some of the most thrilling and memorable experiences, this slate mine now offers the ultimate in indoor and outdoor Lake District adventures. And, if you don’t fancy getting a dunking from falling off a paddleboard, there’s Canadian Canoeing, kayaking, motorboats and traditional rowing boats available to try – perfect for family adventures on the water.
