Large Family Feasts in a Lake District Cottage

Having a family holiday in the Lake District is making a memory you will cherish forever. For most families what brings them together is food, and family feasts have never tasted better than in a Coppermines Cottage in Lakeland.

Family Cottages Lake District

Whether you are cooking for 4 or 14 there are cottages that are perfect for your family group. Picnics, buffet’s, pizza nights, Sunday lunches or even fancy three course meals can be created and enjoyed in one of our larger cottages. Family feasts can happen anytime but hosting a family get together around one of these annual events is so much fun.

• New Year House Party – See the New Year in, in style in a Lake District Cottage with your family. Whether your perfect New Year is loud and boisterous with a buffet and party atmosphere or fun and organised with a sit-down meal followed by engaging board games and the inevitable charades, you will love hosting in a Coppermines Cottage.

• Easter Treats – Easter is a special time in the Lake District as the turn from Winter to Spring is often well underway. An Easter Feast looks so much better on a country cottage table with daffodils in a vase and your family laughing and joking around you – and then arguing about who will do the washing up!

• Summer BBQ’s – Hazy summer days can be spent adventuring in the lakes and fells and in the evening a delicious feast can be made on a BBQ in the cottage garden. When the days are long it is lovely to spend time together eating, drinking and playing games in the Lake District.

• Halloween Howlers – As Halloween often falls on or near half term, many families visit the Lake District and enjoy having a Halloween party in one of the Coppermines Cottages. Create spooky foods, play traditional Halloween games or just relax and watch some chilling movies with your family.

• Christmas Festivities – Christmas is a special time for many people and the Lake District looks magical at Christmas time, so it is no wonder many families get together over the festive period to celebrate. Food and feasting is, of course, central to the celebrations and seeing a Lake District cottage dressed for the season and the table decorated for Christmas is a great memory to keep.
