With so many country pubs across Lakeland and most of them offering some form of Sunday lunch you will be spoiled for choice when looking for a traditional Sunday Lunch.

Whether you want to find a pub with a great Sunday lunch at the end of a morning walk or simply want to drive to a traditional country pub after a morning relaxing in your Lake District cottage, we have some great options we think you should try.

Sunday Lunches in Coniston

As many of the Coppermines Cottages are located in and around Coniston we have started with some local options. Coniston is home to a few great pubs and even a micro-brewery so if beer is as important as food when you are choosing a place for Sunday lunch then pubs like the Black Bull in Coniston are the place for you.

Traditional Lakeland Pub Sunday Lunch

There is something just a little bit wonderful about pulling up outside a traditional Lakeland pub where you know you will get great hospitality and enjoyable food. Fortunately, the Lake District has many of these pubs often in small villages and hamlets where it feels very rural but are often only a short drive away from your base in Coniston. The Brown Horse in Winster, The Punch Bowl in in Crosthwaite and The Mortal Man in Troutbeck are just some of the great pubs that offer a delicious Sunday lunch.

Lovely Hotel Lunch

The Lake District is home to some lovely hotels and many of them offer a Sunday Lunch to non-residents, it is often advisable to book in advance, and while this option is not as relaxed as a pub lunch, as these are some of the best hotels in the UK, the food on offer is excellent. Hotels like The Samling in Windermere is a smart hotel that offers Sunday lunch with a wine pairing option, The Forest Side in Grasmere is another well regarded hotel that offers Sunday lunch for non-residents.

Foodie Places for Sunday Lunch

The Lake District is a have for foodies, with many Michelin Stars and even more excellent places to dine finding a foodie place to have Sunday lunch in the Lake District is easy. One of the most popular foodie places is the relaxed but delicious Drunken Duck Ambleside, and booking is essential. Simon Rogan has recently opened a restaurant called Henrock in Windermere and it serves Sunday Lunch and it is delicious, again we recommend booking for these places.
