This cottage is right at the foot of Old Man of Coniston and was perfect! We spent 3 nights there with the aim of hiking and relaxing and it was great for that. The views out the window are unreal! There's a TV and DVD player, if you want to watch stuff and a kitchen with full utensils (and a dish washer). But the best selling point is the fact it's in the middle of nowhere (in a good way). It's so peaceful and it's on a terrace with 3/4 other properties so you felt secure. You can walk a mile or so down into Coniston if you want to go to the pubs and not drive. The place was a little smaller than expected from the photos (still good for 2 people and a dog though), and they've made lots of small furniture/fixing changes so it actually looks a lot more homely and rustic than the photos. We will definitely stay again!

Lovely cottage, clean and had everything we needed! The location is beautiful and quite remote, with plenty of walks from the doorstep, and a short drive/walk into the village. The host is friendly and easy to communicate with :)

The cottage was perfect for us, compact with everything you need for a stay, the location might not be for everyone, however for us it's perfect, quiet with absolutely stunning scenery, with big hikes from the door, waking up to the view was special.

This place is absolutely stunning. The surroundings are peaceful, the apartment is super cosy. There's a wood fire, easy to use heating and great amenities. Make sure you go stocked up with food! As nothing delivers there, but I cannot complain as the place was so amazing and it was very well-equipped. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful cottage within an easy walk of Coniston and really well-placed for walks up over to Tilberthwaite and up The Old Man. Lovely little fire, all the amenities you could hope for in a kitchen, including sharp kitchen knives. Comfy bed and clean compact bathroom with a nice strong shower and the views are to absolutely die for!

Fantastic cottage in fantastic position. There isn't really anything else more to say, other than the whole experience was brilliant. Little details had been thought out, like supplying a torch and a drip tray for boots by the radiator.

Third time I’ve stayed at the Coppermines cottages. They are perfect for a walking holiday, straight out of the front door onto the fells. Didn’t use the car all week.

Really lovely cottage and awesome location. Best I have been to in years of staying in the Lakes especially for brilliant walks from the cottage with no need to drive. Also the routes in the guest information were really useful. Can't imagine how it could have been better.
