We absolutely loved our stay! Perfect location and beautiful surroundings. Our lodge was on the start path of Old man of coniston walk which was a lovely hike. The lodge was super cosy, comfy bed and small kitchen which allowed us to cook our own things if we wanted! Hot tub was a lovely addition after a long hike! Ideal location close to Ambleside/Grassmere and Windermere. Would highly recommended and will definitely be returning in the future

Beautiful location! Had a lovely time even in rainy January. Perfect walking distance to everything you need. Will be back in summer for a less rainy walk. If you stay here you must visit the local Indian restaurant!!

The surrounds of the Shepard’s hut are beautiful. We arrived late so we only say the full view in the morning and it was breathtaking. There are lots of sheep in the field nearby which were adorable. It was far enough away from the main village that it was peaceful and quiet but you could also comfortably walk to the pubs and amenities. The interior was very cozy and welcoming! Very comfy bed and a lovely little kitchen. The bathroom was clean spacious and functional - although there was no shower gel etc provided as in some airbnb’s. The key safe was simple and easy to use. The hot tub was a big highlight and was lovely after walking around during the day - it was snowing during our stay and being in the hot tub while it was so cold was super :) Highly recommend for a calm and relaxed break.
