Me and my mother had such an amazing time here!! So many accessible walks for all abilities and lots of restaurants in walkable distance. The location was stunning with amazing views and the hut was well kept and clean. There was no noise from traffic and you wake up to the sounds of the waterfall and birds. Overall such a peaceful place. Locals were kind and very accommodating and so was any staff of the grounds.

Absolutely amazing shepherd's hut. Stunning location and the hot tub was a brilliant bonus. Only put probably for 'likely to return to this cottage' as we may look at booking one of the others but will definitely be wanting to book through Coppermines again.

The surroundings where beautiful, my host was very responsive especially because I had to set up a surprise. The hot tub was so simple to use and nice and easy to take the cover on and off. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were like clouds. Kitchen was the perfect size for simple cooking and had everything we needed. The heating was also very simple and worked extremely well which was needed for some of the weather.

This was such a lovely spot to stay, walking distance to all the amenities but also located right on the main walking routes. Lots to see and do, really friendly locals. The hut itself was better than expected as in the photos the landscaping around the huts seemed to still be getting developed but on arrival was almost done.. Looks like each hut will eventually be fenced in so perfect for people with dogs and there’s a good dog walking field right next to the hut. I loved this place and will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay! Perfect location and beautiful surroundings. Our lodge was on the start path of Old man of coniston walk which was a lovely hike. The lodge was super cosy, comfy bed and small kitchen which allowed us to cook our own things if we wanted! Hot tub was a lovely addition after a long hike! Ideal location close to Ambleside/Grassmere and Windermere. Would highly recommended and will definitely be returning in the future

Beautiful location! Had a lovely time even in rainy January. Perfect walking distance to everything you need. Will be back in summer for a less rainy walk. If you stay here you must visit the local Indian restaurant!!

The surrounds of the Shepard’s hut are beautiful. We arrived late so we only say the full view in the morning and it was breathtaking. There are lots of sheep in the field nearby which were adorable. It was far enough away from the main village that it was peaceful and quiet but you could also comfortably walk to the pubs and amenities. The interior was very cozy and welcoming! Very comfy bed and a lovely little kitchen. The bathroom was clean spacious and functional - although there was no shower gel etc provided as in some airbnb’s. The key safe was simple and easy to use. The hot tub was a big highlight and was lovely after walking around during the day - it was snowing during our stay and being in the hot tub while it was so cold was super :) Highly recommend for a calm and relaxed break.
