There's also plenty of easy access to the surrounding fells and mountains nearby, The Old Man of Coniston, Dow Crag and Torver are only a short walk away making the property ideal for walkers, mountain bikers and those who simply want to relax and unwind. Ambleside with all its facilities is just over a twenty minute drive away.
The Gallery is located directly above Fernlea. Fernlea is a ground floor apartment which sleeps an additional 4 guests. Making the two properties when booked together, perfect for families or friends wishing to holiday close by each other.

Ground Floor
From the Victorian timber and slate porch, guests enter the hallway and then the living area: the kitchen, through to a spacious dining area, to the sitting room. With numerous large windows, there's plenty of light and the open-plan layout makes it very spacious and perfect for bringing everyone together
The kitchen is modern and well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, and a freezer under the stairs. The dining area is situated just off the kitchen allowing families and friends to gather in the heart of the home.

There’s a TV, DVD and CD player, plus lots books, games, and DVD’s; everything you need to make it feel like home from home. There are also folders full of local, and not so local, walks to help plan your days out.

First floor
Upstairs there is a sleek and modern bathroom with a large bath with shower over plus two double bedrooms, one of which can be converted to singles.
Bedroom 1 - double bed, with views to Grizedale Forest
Bedroom 2 - king size bed or twin 2'6'' single beds.

Outside
To the front of the property is a small sitting out area, with two chairs and a table, just right for relaxing with a summer coffee. Coniston Water can be reached on foot in just 10 minutes, the perfect space to picnic, watch the world pass by, take the gondola across the water to beautiful Brantwood, hire a boat, or simply splash around in the water. There's also a large grassy park with children's play area just across the lane - making this split level apartment perfect for families.

We’ve recently returned from another fabulous stay at the Gallery in Coniston. We have stayed here a number of times after being recommended by a friend and is an ideal base for both exploring & relaxing. Spacious enough for the 4 of us (2adults & 2 teenagers), the kitchen is well equipped & the lounge very comfortable. Superb location with shops, pubs & the lake all in short walking distance. We are looking to return again in the Summer.

Very well appointed cottage. We stay in the lakes several times a year, so we have seen differing qualities of standards, most have slipped since COVID. This cottage is not one of those. Would like to return

We always book with The Coppermines and after a long drive it was so when we arrived at The Gallery it was so nice to walk into a cosy, warm accommodation. A couple of lights had been left on for us so it felt like home straight away. We will certainly be returning to this beautiful place. Thank you Coppermines.

Thank you for making our holiday in Coniston at The Gallery so enjoyable. We were a bit apprehensive about what it would be like this year and whether we would feel comfortable but it was all absolutely fine and that was down to the arrangements you had put in place and the excellent standard of service we received. We will definitely book through you again and recommend you to others!
