Coniston is a charming village in the Lake District and a perfect place to base yourself if you are coming to visit on a Lake District cottage holiday. Close enough to all the major attractions of the Lake District but set apart enough not to be one of the more touristy areas. This combined with the fact that there are a nice variety of local shops, pubs and restaurants and walking and water adventure on your doorstep – why stay anywhere else!

The Lake District has the most amazing skies at night. If you have ever walked outside your Coppermines Lake District Cottage at Night and looked up, you would be amazed by what you see. With very little light pollution and an abundance of stars, the Lake District is the perfect place to stargaze with the one you love.

The Lake District has been an inspiration for the romantics for generations. Poets such as Wordsworth and Coleridge, the writer and philosopher, John Ruskin and countless artists have been moved to create works of brilliance amongst the lakes, valleys and mountains.

Whether it’s getting away with a group of friends or family members, organising a holiday in the Lake District comes with some logistic challenges.
