A charming & idyllic hideaway situated on the eastern side of Coniston Water.

With an elevated position above the lake, Badger's Cottage offers breath-taking lake and mountain views towards the village and the dramatic Coniston Fells beyond.

Recently refurbished to an exceptionally high standard, the layout of the cottage allows for a most comfortable stay. Whilst perfectly sized for two, this spacious retreat offers guests a warm, welcoming, romantic sanctuary, perfect for any Lake District adventure.

Enjoying the best of both worlds, the cottage is ideally positioned to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Lake District with the plentiful amenities of Coniston village just a mile away. Further delights such as the charming village of Hawkshead, favoured by Beatrix Potter, or the recognisable skyline of the Langdale Valley are also within a short drive.

In essence Badger's Cottage offers couples a delightful, unique and comfortable base, conveniently situated for enjoying the very best of the beautiful Lake District.

The cottage is most suitable for two people, a fantastic 'romantic retreat'. Due to the layout of Badger's the property is not suitable for infants except in exceptional circumstances and by prior arrangement only.

Reached by a number of steps (9) from the adjacent car-parking area, once inside, everything is on one level with just 3 steps down to the bedroom.

Entrance is through the sunroom, which offers a place to enjoy a cuppa whilst admiring the view, and also space to store shoes and coats. From the sunroom you enter into the inviting open plan lounge and kitchen-diner.

The pleasant lounge benefits from fantastic lake and mountain views, with comfy seating, wood burning stove, Free Sat TV & DVD player. This the perfect place to relax with a coffee, a glass of wine or simply to sit and daydream after a day on the lake or exploring the mountains.

The modern cottage kitchen offers plenty of space for the most discerning of kitchen wizards. Well appointed, the kitchen benefits from electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave & dishwasher.

From the living area three steps lead down to the bedroom and modern en suite. The romantic bedroom accommodates a king size bed from which you can wake to enjoy the mountain views. The en suite bathroom offers a walk in wet room shower, W.C & basin. A washer dryer is cleverly tucked into the bathroom design.

Guests will have use of a lovely & private slate paved patio with garden furniture, immediately accessible from the sunroom. Why not enjoy morning coffee or dine al fresco, surrounded by those inspiring views.

Secure cycle storage is also available with immediate access onto the Coniston Water loop.

S.R Sept 2017

Badger's Cottage is a delightful little cottage with absolutely fantastic views over the lake at up to the hills at any time of day.  The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard, the fixtures and fittings are all high quality, and the kitchen is very well equipped with a good selection of cooking equipment including sharp knives, which is a rare but welcome surprise in a holiday cottage.

The bed is very comfortable and waking up to see the view of the hill across the lake is wonderful, even if the top of the hill is covered in cloud!  There is a small porch/room with two chairs so you can sit and look out over the lake, and a small patio area which I think would catch the morning sun.  Parking wasn't an issue, and it is a 1.5 mile walk into Coniston round the top of the lake on a footpath for most of the way.

Badger's is in a perfect position to take advantage of great views but is close enough to town to make use of everything Coniston has to offer.  Our four nights did not seem long enough.
