Ground floor
Coming in the backdoor takes you directly into the kitchen. A welcoming country kitchen with slate worktops and island workstation on hand for all your cooking needs; well-equipped, there's an electric cooker & hob, dishwasher, microwave & fridge/freezer. The adjacent dining area has the flexibility to seat up to 12 and retains some of its original features - an old wooden floor and unusual built-in wooden drawers.
The living room has a large and light bay window with an equally large leather sofa in it. A great spot for diving into your holiday read or just relaxing in front of the TV or a DVD on those wet weather days. There's plenty of other seating too, positioned strategically around the welcoming open fire.

Number 1 Dixon Ground is the largest of the properties situated at the end of terrace. The house is large enough for 10 but if you have a bigger group, you could also take over No. 2 Dixon Ground next door which sleeps a further 4 guests across 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms taking the total capacity to 14. More guests still? No. 4 Dixon Ground is just two doors up sleeps another extra 4 guests in two bedrooms, thus extending the sleeping capacity even further and allowing groups of up to 18 to be comfortably accommodated. Ideal for those big family get-togethers and celebrations.

Coniston is simply an excellent base for any Lake District holiday. The village is packed with friendly pubs, local shops and lively cafes and there is incredible walking straight from the village centre, including the iconic Coniston Old Man. The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country's most beautiful scenery.
For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit. While on the eastern shores of the lake lies Brantwood, the Victorian home of John Ruskin, where visitors can explore the historic house and vibrant arts centre and enjoy some delicious food from The Terrace cafe with its breath-taking lake and mountain views.
The wider Lake District area is also very easily accessible from Coniston, with popular destinations such as Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere just a short drive away.
