3 Dixon Ground is a newly refurbished stone cottage, in the popular Lake District village of Coniston. With stunning walks from the doorstep and plenty of village amenities just a stone's throw away, 3 Dixon Ground is an ideal, comfortable base for any Lake District holiday.

Close to all the village amenities stands a tall and thin Victorian terrace, Dixon Ground. Perfectly positioned on the footpath to the Old Man of Coniston and Levers Water, and on the foothills of the crags behind, these terraced cottages are well situated for walkers, bikers and explorers keen to get straight onto the fells.

Number 3 is a three storey stone cottage nestled within the terrace. The house comfortably sleeps 5 adults across 3 bedrooms, with space for an additional child if required. With beds for a total of 6 guests, the cottage offers flexible accommodation, making it perfect for couples, families or small groups of friends. If you have a bigger group however, you could also take over Number 1 Dixon Ground which will sleep an extra 10 in 4 bedrooms, Number 4 Dixon Ground next door which sleeps an extra 4 or Number 2 Dixon Ground sleeping 4 more, thus extending the sleeping capacity and allowing groups of up to 23 to be comfortably accommodated across 11 bedrooms. Ideal for those big family get-togethers and celebrations.

Though centrally located, with a pub within rolling distance, the Dixon Ground Cottages are pleasantly peaceful. For keen walkers there is access to the spectacular Coniston fells direct from the front door. In essence Number 3 would suit families with children of any age or couples looking to relax and enjoy the local area.

The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country's most beautiful scenery.

For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit. While on the eastern shores of the lake lies Brantwood, the Victorian home of John Ruskin, where visitors can explore the historic house and vibrant arts centre and enjoy some delicious food from The Terrace cafe with its breath-taking lake and mountain views.

The wider Lake District area is also very easily accessible from Coniston, with popular destinations such as Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere just a short drive away.
