The best reasons to have a hot tub holiday in the Lake District this winter

It’s often tempting to simply spend winter waiting for it to end. Holding out on having fun, adventure and even relaxation until spring & summer come around once again.

Here in the Lake District however we embrace those colder winter months. Snow-capped mountains, frosted fells and roaring fires are just some of the reasons why winter in the Lake District is a thing of wonder. And for those of us who hate the cold then fear not! A winter hot tub holiday in the Lakes offers the very best of both world – the opportunity to make the most out of winter by being outdoors, surrounded by nature, whatever the weather – yet enjoying the warmth and comfort of your very own hot tub.

We’ve put together a list of the best things about having a hot tub holiday in the Lakes during the winter months.

  • That glorious moment of slipping into a steaming, bubbling hot tub after a brisk cold walk. Yes, we think that there really is nothing better than returning to your Lake District cottage after an invigorating walk and jumping straight into a hot tub. And the colder the weather the better it feels when you get to sit back, relax and soothe those aching muscles. Absolute bubbly bliss.
  • From hot tub to log fire. On colder days it can be hard to drag yourself out of the relaxing warmth of a hot tub. So what better incentive to withdraw from your hot tub than to leave to sit in front of a roaring log-fire. Many of our Lake District hot tub cottages such as the super-luxurious Cragg Cottage, come with a real log-fire or log-burning stove. The sounds and sights of a flickering, crackling, glowing fire are what Lake District winters are all about. So grab yourself a glass of wine, throw another log on the fire and enjoy a cosy evening in your own comfy cottage.
  • Being able to take in the glorious winter views – but from the warmth of an exclusive hot tub. Five of our unique Mountain Cottages boast their own mountain hot tub. Perfect for those of us who are don’t like being cold but still want to enjoy the outdoors all year round.  Imagine relaxing in Slater Bob’s hot tub as you watch winter clouds roll across the summit of Coniston Old Man. Picture yourself sitting amongst freshly fallen mountain snow yet being comfortably warm in your steaming hot tub. Our Mountain Cottages with hot tubs allow you to enjoy spending time outdoors without feeling the cold!
  • Hot tubs are hot property! There is a huge demand for cottages with private hot tubs all year round. However, you can book a Lake District hot tub holiday for less during the winter months. One of the benefits of choosing the winter months for your stay in a hot tub cottage is the savings available. Not only are prices generally lower, but there are aways special offers and deals to be had – if you’re quick enough! One of the best places to grab a bargain is the The Coppermines Lakes Cottages Daily Deals Page which features last minute offers on Lake District hot tub cottages with substantial discounts applied.
  • Celebrate being together. Our larger hot tub cottages are perfect for group gatherings or celebrations. Getting together with family or friends is a fabulous way to brighten up those darkest of winter months, and a hot tub makes these get-togethers all the more special.  Our Bridge Cottages offer group accommodation for up to 16 guests and come with 3 hot tubs! While our 4 Mountain Cottages can inter-connect to sleep up to 22 guests under one roof and come with no less than 4 hot tubs. Down in the village and close to warm and welcoming pubs is Cherry Tree Cottage which offers accommodation for up to 9 guests and comes with a large, private hot tub in its substantial garden.
  • Who cares if it’s raining – you’re in a hot tub! OK, so some winter days in the Lakes are cold, crisp and glorious, with a low winter sun shining bright in a pale blue sky. And those winter days are wonderful. But other days see the rain clouds roll in across the lakes and the snow begin to fall on the mountain tops. The good news is that you get to watch all this drama and magnificence of nature unfold before your eyes from the comfort of your warming hot tub. Plus many of our hot tubs, such as those at Bridge House, Old Post Cottage, Willow Tree Cottage and Sawyers Mountain Cottage are undercover, giving you protection against the elements as you relax and unwind and enjoy your winter to the fullest, whatever the weather.
