Located on the outskirts of the small village or Torver, nearer the larger and more well-known village on Coniston, this detached cottage boasts superb, uniteruppted mountain views of Coniston Old Man and Dow Crag.
The views can also be enjoyed from the cottage’s sprawling garden, including its perfectly positioned hot tub. Here you can relax in hot, bubbly luxury and soak up the far-reaching mountain views completely undisturbed. Not to be missed.

Imaging yourself, favourite tipple in hand, relaxing on your own private balcony with lake views of Coniston Water. Imaging lying in bed looking at the stars or unwinding fireside next to a vista of rolling hills and shimmering water. Here at Sun Cottage there are 3 floors from which to enjoy the beautiful lake views – so if you’re travelling with another couple there’s views aplenty for everyone.

There are some views so spectacular that even the best cameras struggle to convey their magnitude. Such is the far-reaching and incomparable view at The Stables, Windermere.
On arrival, previous guests have been completely taken aback by the view, with one even declaring that “the view from the cottage must be one of the best in the world”.
As well as one of the best views in all the Lakes (or world), this cosy yet bright and airy for cottage for 4, has bags of space inside as well as being perfected located for exploring the rest of the Lakes.
Nearby are the bustling Lakeland villages of Windermere and Bowness, each with ample pubs, bars, shops and places to eat. Windermere has a train station which connects to the mainline at Oxenholme near Kendal and there is also a regular bus service from Windermere to other Lake District towns including Ambleside and Keswick.

Sleeping 2 guests each, these cottages are perfectly designed for couples. Each has a log-burner, sitting room, fully-equipped kitchen, lovely bedroom and, of course, those views.

Close to Beatrix Potter’s Hilltop Farm, Far Sawrey is a quaint Lake District village located close to the Lade District’s largest lake; Windermere. Located at Sawrey Knotts mansion, from which there are beautiful and far-reaching lake and countryside views, these 2 individual cottages enjoy elevated positions within the impressive mansion grounds.
Tower Cottage is a Victorian folly built in the style of a medieval castle. From your “tower” you can look down on the sprawling views over countryside and woodland towards Lake Windermere. While it may look like a mini castle on the outside, inside you’ll find all the modern conveniences you need to enjoy a wonderful break in the Lakes.
Over at Top Garden Suite, the highest apartment in the mansion complex, you’ll enjoy more of those far-reaching views across Beatrix Potter country towards Windermere. And the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms make it perfect for couples or small families looking for a room with a view within the Lake District National Park.

It’s “view” by name and view by nature at Coniston View. This cute-as-a-button stone cottage was built for the miners who worked in the nearby copper mines. Now a holiday cottage, Coniston View comes complete with a log-burning stove, a comfortable interior and fabulous views.
New for spring 2025, the garden, situated just across the quiet lane, is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed morning coffee or sociable evening drinks. From the landscaped patio and garden, you can watch the sun set over the lake and behind the rolling hills beyond.
